Why This Playbook Exists

Most research fails in one of two ways:

  • It’s fast but unreliable (AI makes claims without proof).

  • It’s accurate but slow (you drown in tabs and notes).

This playbook gives you a Research Agent workflow that delivers speed + trust by separating research into four clear stages:

Sources → Notes → Synthesis → Citations

So you can publish or decide with confidence.

What You Need (Minimal Stack)

Choose one from each row:

1) Research Tool (for finding sources)

  • Perplexity / Google / Brave Search

  • Or your own bookmarks + RSS feeds

2) AI Tool (for extraction + synthesis)

  • ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini

3) Notes Home (for saving briefs)

  • Notion / Google Docs / Obsidian

Rule: Start with one workflow and refine it. Don’t over-tool.

The Research Agent System (Overview)

You’ll run research as an assembly line:

1.     Brief Request (what you want + constraints)

2.     Source Collection (pick 6–12 credible sources)

3.     Evidence Notes (extract only what matters)

4.     Synthesis (patterns, contradictions, implications)

5.     Citations + Claims List (what’s proven vs. uncertain)

6.     Publish-Ready Brief (executive summary + actions)
